Maintenance Assist: Woman with Child

What is NewStart?

How confident are you that your next maintenance cheque will arrive?

In practice not everyone encounters problems, but...

  • What if an accident or redundancy strike your maintenance payer?
  • What if the maintenance payer was unable to work through illness or, in the worst case scenario, died?
  • Perhaps the maintenance payer just stops paying you...

You and your family have come to depend on the monthly payments but remain on a tight budget.

  • Can you survive without this money for 3 months, 6 months or longer?

If your answer is a comfortable "yes", you don't need NewStart but if, like most people, you rely on this income "New Start" will give you the confidence and independence to face the future positively.

Whether your relationship with your former partner is amicable or acrimonious, the unexpected can always happen, and Maintenance Assist is here to support you and help to provide peace of mind.

So what does NewStart Cover?

Essentially New Start provides income protection cover for your maintenance.
  • DEBT RECOVERY AND LEGAL FEES - The debt recovery costs and legal fees of a family law solicitor to enforce your maintenance are covered.
  • LEGAL HELPLINE - Our confidential legal advice helpline, which is operated by Stones Solicitors LLP, puts you in touch with a qualified legal adviser who can give you general advice on any legal matter relating to your family.
  • ACCIDENT / SICKNESS/ ACCIDENTAL DEATH - If the maintenance payer cannot pay maintenance as a result of being unable to work through sickness, accident or accidental death, then your lost or reduced maintenance would be paid by the insurance.
  • REDUNDANCY - If maintenance is not paid due to redundancy of the maintenance payer, then the lost or reduced maintenance would be paid by the insurance.
  • DEATH (non-accidental) - If the maintenance payer dies by natural causes an income equivalent to the lost maintenance will be paid for a limited period.

The main features of the insurance are listed under levels of cover (link above) but you should read the Key Facts and the full policy conditions for full details. Limitations and waiting periods may apply.

The Benefits of NewStart Cover?
